RV parks and mobile home parks put many connections on one wastewater system, and flow changes with occupancy, season and events, so the system needs scheduled maintenance and a working alarm. Brown Aerobic pumps, maintains and repairs these systems across seven counties. Call 832-789-5357.

Why are RV park and mobile home park systems harder to manage?

A house has a steady, predictable flow. A park does not. Occupancy rises on holidays and weekends and drops in the off-season. Residents and guests flush things they should not. Dump stations add concentrated waste. All of this runs through tanks, pumps and dispersal areas that were sized for a design flow, and when use exceeds it, problems show up quickly.

The cost of a failure is also higher. One backup can affect many sites at the same time, and the owner is the one who gets the calls.

What septic services do you offer for parks?

Scope depends on your system. Services we can provide include:

  • Maintenance contracts with scheduled inspection of tanks, pumps, aerators, floats and panels
  • Pumping on a schedule, or when levels call for it
  • Lift station service for parks with sites below the main system
  • Alarm repair and testing, so you hear about high water before residents do
  • Drain field repair when dispersal areas stay wet or stop absorbing
  • BOD and TSS testing where your permit requires effluent sampling
  • Trenching and sewer repairs for the lines that feed the system, plus camera inspection when a line keeps clogging

We tell you what we find in plain language, and we quote repairs before the work starts. If your park has more than one tank or more than one lift station, we map them on the first visit so every future visit starts from the same list.

How large can a park system be before different rules apply?

Texas regulates on-site sewage facilities under TCEQ rules, and permits come through the county. Very large flows can fall outside that category and be handled under a different kind of wastewater authorization. Where that line sits for your park is a question for your county permitting office, and it is worth asking early. Call us with your park's size and we will tell you which projects we take on.

What about dump stations and RV waste?

RV waste is more concentrated than household wastewater, and the chemicals some RV owners use can affect the treatment system. If your park has a dump station, tell us when you call so we can plan for it. A dump station that runs into the same system as the sites adds load that the tanks and the dispersal area have to be able to handle.

How should a park plan around seasonal use?

  • Schedule pumping and inspection before your busy season, not after it.
  • Test alarms and pumps before peak weekends and holidays.
  • Tell us about events, rallies or new sites, because added flow changes what the system needs.
  • After heavy rain, watch the dispersal area. Saturated Greater Houston clay takes longer to recover.
  • Post guidance for guests and residents on what should not be flushed.

Can you help with new sites or a new park?

Yes. Adding sites, a bathhouse or a new section changes the load on the system, and the permit may need to be updated. Our commercial installation and design service covers soil evaluation, design, permitting and installation, and we do the site work as well, from clearing and trenching to grading, so the new section drains properly. We can set the new system up under a maintenance contract from day one.

Common questions

  • Do RV parks need a maintenance contract for their septic system?

Many do. Aerobic systems are generally required to be under a maintenance contract, at least for the first two years, and parks usually keep one going because of the flow. Requirements vary by county, so check with your county permitting office or call us.

  • Can you pump an RV park septic tank?

Yes. We pump commercial tanks on a schedule or as a one-time call. Tell us how many tanks you have, where they are and when they were last pumped. If you are not sure where the tanks are, we can locate them.

  • What happens if the park's alarm goes off?

Reduce water use across the park if possible, check the breaker for the system and call us. A high-water alarm means the pumps or the dispersal area may not be keeping up, and it is better to act before a backup reaches the sites.

  • Do you serve parks outside Harris County?

We serve seven counties: Harris, Montgomery, Waller, Fort Bend, Austin, Grimes and Brazoria. Call with the park's location and we will confirm whether we can take it on and how we would schedule service.
