- Septic Service for Churches, Schools and Offices

Churches, schools and offices put a heavy load on a septic system in short bursts, and a system sized for a small building can be overwhelmed by one big event. Brown Aerobic provides scheduled pumping, maintenance and alarm service that works around your calendar. Call 832-789-5357.
Why do churches and schools stress their septic systems?
The load is uneven. A church may see a few people on weekdays and a full building on Sunday, or a crowd for a wedding or funeral. A school is empty on weekends and full on weekdays, with a spike at lunch and at the end of the day. An office is steadier, but a growing staff changes the numbers.
A septic system is designed for an expected daily flow. When use regularly exceeds that or comes all at once, tanks fill faster, pumps work harder and the dispersal field has less time to recover.
What septic services do you provide for these properties?
- Maintenance contracts with scheduled inspection of tanks, pumps, aerators, floats and control panels
- Pumping on a schedule, with timing that we can plan around your calendar
- Alarm repair and testing, with an autodialer if no one is on site to hear the horn
- Lift station service where the building sits below the system
- Repairs to pumps, aerators, floats, filters and lines
- Inspections and tank locating for properties with no records
- BOD and TSS testing where the permit requires it
How can service be scheduled around services and school calendars?
Pumping and inspection can be planned for the weeks when the building is quiet: between school terms, after a holiday season or early in the week for a church. Ask us what we can do for your calendar when you call. Planned visits are far less disruptive than an emergency before Sunday service or in the middle of a school day.
What are the warning signs a building is outgrowing its system?
- Slow drains or gurgling after large events or on busy weekdays
- An alarm that comes on after a big gathering and then clears
- Wet or spongy ground over the tank or the dispersal area
- Odors outside the building, especially after heavy use
- A new classroom wing, fellowship hall or office addition that has not been checked against the system
If you are planning an addition, call us before you build. The new fixtures change the load, and the permit may need to be revised. Our design and installation team can look at whether the current system has room.
What paperwork can facilities managers and boards expect?
We keep service records for each visit so the trustees, the school business office or the property manager can see the history of the system. We are licensed and insured, and we will confirm what vendor documents we can provide when you call. If your organization has its own purchasing process, tell us what it requires.
Do you serve rural churches and schools?
Yes. Many rural congregations and small schools run on septic because there is no sewer line nearby. We serve Harris, Montgomery, Waller, Fort Bend, Austin, Grimes and Brazoria counties, including the country roads between the towns. A small congregation with an older tank and no paperwork is a normal call for us, and we will start by locating the system and checking its condition.
Spanish is spoken, which helps when a congregation or a school staff includes Spanish speakers who handle the building.

Common questions
- How often should a church septic tank be pumped?
It depends on tank size and how much the building is used, so there is no single interval. A church with weekly crowds and midweek events needs a different schedule than one used once a week. We look at the system and set a schedule with you.
- Can you schedule pumping around school breaks?
We will plan with you. Between terms and holidays are good times, because the building is quiet and a visit causes less disruption. Call early so we can set the date before the busy season starts, and tell us what your calendar allows.
- Our building has no records for the septic system. Can you help?
Yes. We can locate buried tanks and lids, inspect what is there and note the system type and condition. Having that information makes future pumping, repairs and permit questions much easier. Call 832-789-5357 to set up a visit.
- Does an office building on septic need a maintenance contract?
Often, if the system is aerobic. Aerobic systems are generally required to have a maintenance contract, at least for the first two years, and many owners continue. Requirements vary by county, so check with your county permitting office or call us.
