A lift station that is only serviced when it fails always fails at a bad time, and the repair costs more than the visit that would have prevented it. Brown Aerobic includes lift stations in commercial maintenance contracts so inspections, alarm tests and pumping are scheduled together. Call 832-789-5357.

What is a lift station maintenance contract?

It is an agreement for planned visits to your station or stations, instead of calls when something is already wrong. It sits alongside our other commercial septic maintenance contracts, so a property with both a septic system and a lift station can have everything on one schedule.

What does a planned visit cover?

  1. Locate and open the chamber safely, and check the lid and the area around it.
  2. Look at the water level, the pumps, the floats and the discharge piping.
  3. Clean off floats and remove what has wrapped around the pumps or collected on the bottom.
  4. Test the alarm and check the control panel and electrical connections.
  5. Pump the chamber if it needs it, and note anything that will need repair soon.
  6. Record what we found, so you have a history of the station.

Why is a contract better than calling when there is a problem?

  • Problems are found while they are small, such as a worn pump or a sticky float
  • The alarm is tested, so you know it will work when you need it
  • Pumping happens on a plan, so buildup does not foul the equipment
  • You have a written history of the station for boards, managers and inspectors
  • Costs are easier to budget than surprise repairs

How often are visits?

It depends on the size of the station, the flow it handles and what goes down the drain, so we do not use a one-size schedule. We look at the station, agree a plan with you and adjust it as we learn how the station behaves.

Who is this for?

Most of our lift station contracts are for properties that sit below the sewer or septic system they connect to: apartment communities and HOAs, shopping centers, offices, churches and schools and RV and mobile home parks.
